Supported Blackmagic Devices in PVP 3

Native SDI input and output is a great new feature in PVP 3. The following is the list of Blackmagic devices we have tested with PVP 3, and how many input and or output signals each can support.

Thunderbolt 2 Devices Tested

  • UltraStudio 4K Extreme - 1 input, 1 output; simultaneous
  • UltraStudio 4K - 1 input, 1 output; simultaneous
  • UltraStudio 3D Thunderbolt - 1 output 
  • UltraStudio Express - 1 output
  • UltraStudio Mini Monitor - 1 output
  • UltraStudio Mini Recorder - 1 input

Thunderbolt 3 Devices Tested

  • Ultrastudio HD Mini - 1 input, 1 output

PCI Devices Tested (via thunderbolt 2 to PCI chassis)

  • Decklink Quad 2 - Any combination of 8 inputs or outputs; simultaneous
  • Decklink Quad - 4 inputs, 4 outputs; simultaneous
  • Decklink Duo 2 - Any combination of 4 inputs or outputs; simultaneous
  • Decklink Duo - 2 inuts, 2 outputs; simultaneous

USB3 Devices Tested

  • Intensity Shuttle USB 3.0 - 1 HDMI input

 

Note: you should be able to use Thunderbolt 2 devices on 2016 and newer Macs that have Thunderbolt 3 by using an Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter.

All testing was done on macOS 10.12.6, using a mix of Blackmagic drivers 10.9.5 and 10.9.7, across MacBook Pros, Mac Pros, iMacs, and Mac Minis.
