The Stage Display app for iOS and Android function similarly. There are a few differences to conform to the design standards of the mobile operating systems, but the intention is for them to be as similar as possible.
To connect the app to ProPresenter you will first need to enable the network settings in ProPresenter. Open Preferences and go to the Network tab. Check the box to enable your network, then check the box to enable the Stage Display App. You will need to set your own password. You likely do not need to enter a Port number. If you do, this will need to be given to your by your network administrator.
Once you have enabled the settings in ProPresenter, you can open the Stage Display app. Your mobile device will need to be on the same wifi network as your computer in order to connect. We'll take a look at the standard connection first and then look at the more advanced, manual connection option at the end of this article.
When you open the StageDisplay app, you will see this login screen. If more than one Mac is able to connect to the app, you will see each computer listed. Select the one you want to connect to and then enter the password you created in ProPresenter. Tap Connect to connect to ProPresenter.
If your connection is successful you will see one of your Stage Display layouts on screen. Some features that are supported by the stage display connected to your Mac or PC are not supported in the mobile version, most notably the PCO Live connectivity.
To choose which Stage Display Layout you would like to view on your mobile device as well as access your settings, long-press on the screen.
In the lower right, select "Follow Pro" if you want the mobile app to always show the same Layout as what the primary computer is showing. Turn off "Follow Pro" if you want to select the Layout on the mobile app.
Tap Settings in the lower left to access the application's settings.
From here you can enable or disable the Automatic Login feature, you can Logout and Disconnect from the device, and you can have the app Vertically Mirror the Layout (which is useful if you are using the app as a Teleprompter).
Advanced Setup
If the standard connection method doesn't work for you, you can manually connect to the computer via the computer's IP address the port number from ProPresenter. It's rare that the normal connection won't work, but if you have a large network or your system administrator has put some restrictions in place, then the ports used by Bonjour to find devices, which is what we use for the connection, may fail.
On the Stage Display mobile app's home screen, tap Manual Connection at the bottom of the screen, then follow the instructions below to locate your computer's IP address. Try to use the default assigned Port number in ProPresenter first, but if that doesn't work, enter the specific port provided to you by your network administrator.
