There are a lot of Bible translations available. Sources like YouVersion and Bible Gateway of thousands of translations in almost every language, and they are available to you for free on every device.
We don't have nearly as many translations available, but we do want to include as many translations that our users request that we can. Adding a new translation requires quite a bit of work sometimes. In order to add a new translation we have to secure a publishing agreement with each publisher. While there are some publishers that control a large number of translations, most translations are managed by different organizations. A list of 10 translations could have 10 or more publishers involved depending on how the rights are managed for each translation.
We secure the majority of our Bibles through two different services. We do get some requests for translations that are not available from either of our sources and or that we can't secure in the file format we need. We may also have a hard time getting a response from publishers, which can delay or prevent us from adding a new translation. It is not possible for you to add your own translations to ProPresenter. They must be in a specific file format and packaged in our Bible installer.
If you are interested in requesting a new translation, please check to see if the specific translation you would like to see added to ProPresenter is available from YouVersion. They use one of the same sources that we do for securing the text, so if they have the translation, it's likely that we can also get it. If you are requesting a Bible translation that is not available on YouVersion, then it probably doesn't exist in the file format that we need, but we'll still look into it and let you know.
You can make a request for a new translation by email or in our forums. Regardless of how you make your request, we need some specific information to help us start the process. Please include the following information with your request:
- Full name in native language
- Full name in English (if possible/not already in English)
- Abbreviation
- Language
- Publisher
- Link to translation on YouVersion (if available)
- Link to publisher's website (if not on YouVersion)
