macOS Sonoma Compatibility

With the release of new operating system versions, it's common for software developers to face compatibility challenges as they work to adapt their products to the latest platforms. This can result in temporary incompatibilities with the newest macOS versions. Apple released macOS Sonoma (macOS 14.0) on September 26, 2023. Like you, we are excited to see the potential of this new OS in action.

Our team has been working on Support for this across all of our products since the development betas have been available. At the time of the release, our Development and Quality Assurance teams began the work of building and testing our softwares with the new OS so that we can release a version that provides full support for the new OS as quickly as possible.

It is also important to note, that when our software is supported with the newer OS- 3rd party solutions may not be ready yet, such as Dante, etc.

At the time of this update (Dec 5, 2023), recommendations for each of softwares in regards to macOS Sonoma are listed below:

 

ProPresenter: With the release of ProPresenter 7.15, we fully support macOS Sonoma, however, we recommend users continue to exercise caution when making the switch due to some third-party companies (like Blackmagic and Dante) have not yet released updates that support this macOS for their products.
PVP: We are not currently supporting or recommending users updating to macOS Sonoma. We are currently investigating a major issue with saving new show files on this macOS.
ProPresenter-Scoreboard: We have done an initial test run with ProPresenter Scoreboard 6.2.5 and macOS Sonoma and while we did not uncover any major issues, we are still not yet fully supporting or recommending updating at this point.
PVS: We are not currently recommending or supporting PVS with macOS Sonoma.
