This article deals with our legacy product, ProPresenter 6. For the ProPresenter 7 Knowledge Base, click HERE.
ProPresenter 6 for Windows requires a graphics card that supports a standard called OpenGL 3.2 or OpenCL 1.1. It is of note that OpenGL 3.2 and OpenCL 1.1 came out in 2009, so most modern graphics cards should support this language, however, some of our users still see this error message, even after they have been using ProPresenter for a while. If you see this error message then one of several things have happened:
- The most common reason for this is that the graphics card drivers need updating. Even if an automated process is saying that the drivers are up to date we find that manually downloading and installing the drivers fixes this issue for the majority of our customers.
- If this is the case, we recommend that you find out which graphics card you have on your computer then manually download and install the latest drivers for that device. After you install the drivers, you can restart your computer and ProPresenter should start to work.
- The graphics card actually doesn’t support OpenGL 3.2 or OpenCL 1.1. This is rare, but it can happen. If this is the case then you would need to install a graphics card that supports OpenGL 3.2 or OpenCL 1.1.
- The graphics card does technically support OpenGL 3.2 or OpenCL 1.1 but the card is otherwise not be supported by ProPresenter. In this case, you would need to install a dedicated graphics card with at least 1 GB of memory.
