Warning Signs in ProPresenter

ProPresenter provides visual warnings to help users quickly identify and resolve potential issues within their presentations. One common warning is the yellow exclamation mark, which can appear in multiple locations throughout the software. This article explains what these warnings indicate and how to address them effectively.

1. Yellow Warning on a Presentation Title Bar

If you see a yellow warning exclamation mark on the title bar of a presentation, this indicates that the presentation's resolution does not match any of the configured screens in ProPresenter. This mismatch can affect how your content is displayed.

How to Fix It:

  • Click on the yellow warning sign.

  • Select the appropriate resolution that matches your configured screens.

2. Yellow Warning in the Editor’s Presentation Tab

Another place where you may encounter a yellow warning sign is in the Editor under the Presentation tab. This warning appears for the same reason—a resolution mismatch between the presentation and configured screens.

How to Fix It:

  • Adjust the presentation’s resolution to match one of your configured screens.

3. Yellow Warning on a Specific Slide

If a yellow warning appears on an individual slide, hover over the warning icon to determine the cause. There are two primary reasons for this warning:

A. Missing Media Object

If the warning indicates a missing media object, it means the file linked to the slide is no longer in its original location.

How to Fix It:

  • Re-link the media by selecting the missing file’s new location on your computer.

  • To prevent future issues, navigate to ProPresenter Settings > General Tab and enable Manage Media Automatically so ProPresenter keeps track of media files.

B. Text Box Overflow

If the warning is due to a text box issue, it means the text box is too small to display all the text on the slide.

How to Fix It:

  • Open the slide in the Editor.

  • Locate the text box with the warning icon.

  • Click the plus (+) button at the bottom of the text box.

  • Expand the text box until it fully accommodates the text.
