This article is specifically for Windows Computers. If you need to know how to remove files from iCloud Drive on a Mac, choose this article. ProPresenter7 stores content locally to the hard drive by default. The default location for ProPresenter files is the C:\Users\%UserProfile%\Documents\ProPresenter folder on a Windows computer. Often times during the setup process of a PC you can be prompted to sign into a Microsoft account, which may include the process of syncing your Desktop and Documents folders to OneDrive. This is not something that we recommend at this time due to the optimizations needed to work well with syncing data over OneDrive.
An easy way of seeing if your documents are being synced with OneDrive is if you see green checkmarks next to the items listed in Documents, or on Desktop, like shown in the image below.
To change this, you can either move your ProPresenter data to a new location by copying this folder to a custom location, or stop syncing your data to OneDrive. Our recommendation would be to stop syncing with OneDrive on computers being used for ProPresenter, but we will cover how to change the location as well.
Step 1- Close ProPresenter and Disable OneDrive Backup
To start this process, close ProPresenter. The next thing to do is disable OneDrive Syncing by opening a File Explorer Window by pressing on the start menu, and typing "File Explorer" and pressing enter. After you've done that, you should see a window like the screenshot above, and you can then right click on the "OneDrive" tab on the left hand side, to choose "Manage OneDrive Backup".
Choosing this option will allow you to "Stop Backup" of Documents files. This is the option to choose, which in this window, should look like this:
Once you have stopped the backup, you will get a prompt that will look like this letting you know that your data is no longer in the "Documents" folder on the computer, but is still one OneDrive. Our next step is to copy the data from OneDrive to your local Documents. It is important here that you copy data from OneDrive, instead of moving it because if you have multiple computers using the same Microsoft account, you can remove this data from their computer by removing it from OneDrive.
Step 2- Move your data from OneDrive to Documents
To move your data from OneDrive into Documents, head over to the OneDrive tab in File Explorer, like we did previously, and you should see a folder called "Documents" Once inside this folder, you should see your "ProPresenter" folder. You can either right click on this "ProPresenter" folder inside of OneDrive and paste it into the local Documents folder, or hold the Control Key and drag it into the local Documents folder to the tab on the left, and should look like this:
Step 3- Open ProPresenter and verify your data is available
After this has been done, you should be able to open ProPresenter and see your data back in the app. If you do not, check to see if your ProPresenter folder made it into the Documents folder on your computer. Should this folder be here, and you still need help, please reach out to our Support team at contact.renewedvision.com
Should you have to continue using OneDrive for whatever reason, and need to move your data to a custom location, you can follow the steps below.
Again, the Default Location is in C:\Users\%UserProfile%\Documents\ProPresenter folder on the computer, so navigate to this Documents folder on your PC. Once there, you will copy the ProPresenter folder to your custom location. Once copied, we need to tell ProPresenter how to access that folder. To do this, head into the General tab of ProPresenter Preferences, and choose the "..." icon under "Support Files".
Choose your folder and allow ProPresenter time to load that data.
