NDI Input Discovery allows for specific groups of NDI sources to be seen on specific machines, along with NDI sources on subnets different to the one your ProPresenter computer is on. Having these options allow you to access NDI devices that are managed on your local network.
In the Inputs tab of ProPresenter Settings, you will see "NDI Input Discovery". This page consists of 3 separate options:
- Show Sources running on the local machine
- Receive Groups
- Additional Search IPs
Show Sources Running on the Local Machine
This is a toggle which does exactly that–If enabled, then NDI sources that originate on the same machine as ProPresenter (NDI test patterns, ProPresenter NDI output, etc) will appear in your list of inputs. With this option disabled, those sources will not appear.
Receive groups
If you have NDI sources divided into groups (Cameras, Monitors, etc) you can type the group name into this field to see all the members of that group. You can add multiple group names, separated by commas, to see more than one group. These groups are created in NDI Access Manager. For more information on NDI Access Manager, please visit NDI's website here.
Additional Search IPs
If you have a machine or NDI source on a different subnet than the computer running ProPresenter, you can use this option to enter the IP address of that source, to see the NDI feed in inputs. For instance if your ProPresenter machine was on 10.0.1.100, and you had a camera on 10.0.20.130, by default, that camera would not appear in the list of inputs for ProPresenter. However, if you added the camera IP address into this field, it would appear. This field accepts both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, however only one of those is required for each device.
