Slide View Options in ProPresenter

ProPresenter offers three different options for viewing slides inside of the Show area of the program.  Traditionally, the Show area is where you’ll trigger slides and other content to send to your screens. There are updates to how the original view options of Grid and Table can be formatted alongside a new option called Easy View. Each view has dynamic setting options that show once you select the view by clicking on the circle with the three dots.

Grid View

The Grid View is traditionally how a lot of users work inside the program and trigger their slides.  Clicking on the button that looks like a four-square grid in the bottom right of the Slide View Area enables this view.  This view allows you to see rows of thumbnails in a grid across your screen and clicking on a slide will send it to the screen instantly.  Grid_View.png

The thumbnails in this area show specifically what is going to the screen and so there are not many options that can be changed here.  Each available option is in the bottom right corner of the Slide View area under the menu with the dots.

Here, you have the option to enable Slides by Group.  This option allows your slides to be separated out by the Groups they’re assigned to which shows individual rows of slides for each individual Group you have assigned.

The other option you can change here is the Thumbnail Background Color.  This Background color is to specifically change the color of the slide thumbnail here in the Slide View Area and does not affect the output.  If a Slide Background Color has been assigned in the Editor, the background color assigned in the editor would still appear in the thumbnail.

Table View

Table View allows you to view your slides in an outline type model.  Clicking on the button that looks like four horizontal lines in the bottom right of the Slide View Area enables this view.  This view allows you to see the text of each slide cleanly out to the side of the slide thumbnail and shows one column of slides to trigger, as well as the ability to see Slide Notes.  The Group Label appears at the top of each Group and the Group color extends down the left-most side of the Slide View Area.

There are a few more formatting options for Table View than there were in Grid View as you have the ability to format the text that is shown outside of the thumbnail.

Again, there is the option of Slides by Group and a Thumbnail Background Color option for the thumbnails as were present in Grid View, as well as a Table Background Color which changes the background of the table itself. The other options involve the text itself. These text formatting options allow you to set the font, size, color, style, and alignment of the text.  There is also a “Truncate” option which is used if there is more text from the slide than can fit in the allocated space. This allows you to cut text from the beginning, middle or end of the text passage to maximize the information seen by the operator.

Easy View

The newest view in ProPresenter is Easy View.  Easy View is a hybrid of Grid and Table View that allows you to see thumbnails of each of your slides while visually change the text on the slide thumbnail without affecting the output of the slides to your screens.  Clicking on the button that features a large capital T in the bottom right of the Slide View Area enables this view. You can also toggle this view while in Grid View by holding down the Shift key on Mac or ~ key on Windows.

The formatting options here reflect the same as those you see in Table View, but they will change the thumbnail itself.  Below, we’ve adjusted the settings in the formatting window that created the view you see in the screenshot above.

Starting in 7.9, users can toggle Media Actions to show in Easy View.

The three view options in ProPresenter should allow you to more cleanly operate the software and trigger slides to your screens.
