Starting in ProPresenter version 21, a new, native PowerPoint importer was introduced into ProPresenter. This allows you to import .pptx files from PowerPoint and import them as editable ProPresenter presentations with all text, slide objects, media, and simple animations preserved. This new import process also no longer requires you to have the PowerPoint application itself installed on the same machine.
Importing PowerPoints
In order to import a PowerPoint file into ProPresenter, select File>Import from the menu bar. Then in the list of options, choose how you would like to import your presentation.
If you would like all the slide elements to remain editable, choose PowerPoint as Presentation…
If you would like each slide to be converted to an image, choose PowerPoint as Images…
Lastly, if you’re on macOS, and you’d like to just import objects and text using the old method, choose PowerPoint as Objects and Text….
Once imported, all of your applicable text, shapes, media, slide notes, and even transitions and builds will be preserved* and able to be edited within ProPresenter just like any other presentation!
At the release of ProPresenter version 21, some PowerPoint features are not supported, but may come at a later time. Below is a list of items that are not currently supported.
