What is the Media Bin?
The Media Bin is the central hub in ProPresenter for organizing and managing all of your media actions. This includes images, videos, and other graphic elements.
Locating and Toggling the Media Bin
- The Media Bin is located in the lower-left corner of the ProPresenter interface.
- If it isn't visible, click the Media button in the top right of the program window to reveal it.
- You can also toggle it from the View menu in the menu bar.
- Keyboard shortcut: Control+V on Mac or Ctrl+Shift+V on PC.
If your presentations are already prepared and you don't need to browse additional media, hiding the Media Bin can help create a cleaner workspace.
Media Bin Sections
The Media Bin is made up of two main sections:
Outline View: Located on the left side, this shows the organizational structure of your media library. Click the icon to the right of the "Media" label to toggle this section open or closed.
Content View: Located to the right of the outline view, this section shows the contents of whatever is currently selected — such as a Media Bin playlist, video inputs, or ProContent.
Display Options
- Adjust the thumbnail size using the slider in the bottom right corner of the Media Bin.
- Switch between thumbnail view and list view.
Filtering Media
Use the filter field, located below the bin in the center, to filter media cues within a playlist based on the media name. This is useful for quickly locating specific items in a large playlist.
Global Media Transition
To the left of the filter field, you can select the global media transition and set its duration. The global media transition determines what transition any media on the media layer will default to when transitioning between different cues, or when triggering and clearing media cues.
Note: This does NOT include media that exists as "slide elements" on slides.
Organizing with Playlist Folders
A Playlist Folder adds an additional layer of organization to the Media Bin's Outline View, letting you group multiple playlists together in one place.
Playlist Folders are especially useful for content you don't need on a week-to-week basis. For example, you might create a folder for graphics that are only used during certain holidays, like Christmas and Easter. Keeping those playlists together in a folder keeps them easy to find when you need them, without cluttering your regular service assets.
To create a Playlist Folder:
- Click the plus (+) icon at the bottom left of the Media Bin.
- Select New Playlist Folder.
