Amazing Life (APlay) is a content provider integration that lets you import Amazing Life service playlists directly into your ProDisplay presentations. This article walks you through connecting the integration, importing playlists, and what to do if you see a "Content provider media is unavailable" error.
Before You Start
You'll need an active Amazing Life account, created on the Amazing Life website, before you can connect the integration in ProDisplay.
Connecting Amazing Life to ProDisplay
In ProDisplay, go to Settings > Content Providers.
Locate Amazing Life in the list of content providers and select Connect.
In the confirmation dialog, confirm the redirect to Amazing Life's website.
On Amazing Life's site, review the access request from ProDisplay and log in with your Amazing Life credentials.
After a successful login, you'll be redirected back to ProDisplay.
The dashboard shows the connected status, and a toast message confirms playlists can now be imported.
Importing Amazing Life Service Playlists
Once connected, playlists can be pulled into Presentations.
In ProDisplay, go to Presentations and select the + button.
Choose Import APlay Service Playlists.
In the modal, browse or search the Amazing Life service playlists that have been built.
Optionally select a playlist to preview its slides before importing.
Select one or more playlists, then select Add to Presentations.
Imported playlists appear in Presentations, and each slide carries an Amazing Life icon identifying it as APlay content. From there, Amazing Life slides and presentations behave like any other ProDisplay content—slide and presentation settings can be configured normally, and slides can be inspected or previewed the same way as with any other presentation.
Note: If no service playlists exist in Amazing Life, or all have been deleted, the modal will show no available playlists. Playlists must be created in Amazing Life before they can be imported into ProDisplay.
Disconnecting Amazing Life from ProDisplay
In ProDisplay, go to Settings > Content Providers.
Select Disconnect next to Amazing Life.
Confirm the warning that disconnecting will remove the ability to import service playlists to presentations.
Select Disconnect again to proceed.
Once disconnected, you'll lose access to Amazing Life content and the ability to import new playlists, and Import APlay Service Playlists will no longer appear in the plus-button menu..
Troubleshooting the Amazing Life Integration
When Amazing Life content can't be played, affected slides show "Content provider media is unavailable." This applies to Amazing Life video slides specifically—image slides are never affected by this error. If you are seeing this error, please go through the following list to see if any of these apply to you.
- Amazing Life subscription has lapsed. Renew your subscription directly on Amazing Life's site. Access typically resumes shortly after payment goes through.
- Media was deleted from the playlist in Amazing Life. If the underlying video or playlist item was removed on Amazing Life's side, you should re-add the content there, or replace it with different Amazing Life content in ProDisplay.
- The video link expired from sitting paused too long. Amazing Life delivers video as a live HLS stream; if a presentation sat paused for an extended period, the link can time out. Reopening or restarting the presentation refreshes the link.
- Amazing Life is experiencing a service outage. Check Amazing Life's status page or try again later; this typically resolves once their service is back up.
- The content is no longer available from Amazing Life. Some content may be removed or become unavailable from Amazing Life's library entirely. In this case, the playlist needs to be updated in Amazing Life to include available content.
If none of these resolve the issue, disconnecting and reconnecting the Amazing Life integration in Settings > Content Providers can help, since it re-establishes the account link from scratch.
Where You'll See This
Web dashboard: the presentation list preview, the slide inspector, the presentation preview modal, the shareable link preview, and the Calendar page as a disclaimer banner when an affected presentation is attached to an event.
Apple TV: during playback of the affected slide, and in the queue view for any upcoming affected slide.
Image slides are unaffected everywhere on this list. In a looping presentation, an affected slide is skipped automatically; in a manually advanced presentation, you can still navigate to it.
