Overview

The Amazing integration brings a service your kids ministry team built in APlay into ProPresenter as a ready-to-run playlist. Teaching slides, worship, Bible story videos and audio arrive in order, with nothing to rebuild.

• Slides and graphics are downloaded and saved to your computer, in a library you choose.
• Curriculum video and audio stream from APlay, so you always present the current version.
• Importing is one way. Changes you make in ProPresenter are never sent back, so what your team built stays as they built it.

The Amazing Integration is available starting on ProPresenter Version 22. Please ensure you are on version that supports this feature. 

Before you begin

You will need:

• An APlay account with access to your organization's playlists. If you have an APlay account or need to create one, go to portal.joinamazing.com. To learn more about APlay, visit joinamazing.com/aplay.
• A stable internet connection during your service, because streamed items play from APlay while the service runs.

Connect your Amazing account

1. Open ProPresenter Settings and select Integrations.

2. Click Amazing.

   

3. Click Login. ProPresenter opens the APlay login page in your default browser.

   

4. Log in to your Amazing Account. This will open on an external browser. ProPresenter shows Finish logging in to APlay in your browser and updates as soon as you are logged in. Click Cancel to stop.

   

5. Once you are logged in, the page shows the user and organization connected to ProPresenter, plus two settings:

   • Automatically Check for Playlist Updates: when a playlist you have already imported changes in Amazing, it is marked in the sidebar. Nothing changes until you refresh it.
   • Download Library: the ProPresenter library where imported presentations, slides and graphics are saved.

   

To manage your account, click portal.joinamazing.com at the bottom of the page. To disconnect, click Logout.

Import a playlist

1. In the ProPresenter sidebar, click the + button next to Library.

2. Select APlay Playlist.

   

3. In the picker, find the playlist you want. The list is flat, in the order you created when building your service in APlay, and shows the organization your account belongs to. Type in the search field to filter it, or click Refresh if something you expect is missing.

4. Select the playlist and click Select.

   

The playlist arrives with the same name it has in APlay, marked with the Amazing logo. Each item, and each item header in the show view, carries the logo too.

If you have already imported that playlist

Selecting a playlist you imported before asks which you want:

• Update the playlist already in ProPresenter. This does the same thing as refreshing it.
• Bring in a second copy. A separate, independent playlist that refreshes and updates on its own.

Neither happens unless you choose it.

Keeping a playlist up to date

When your team changes a playlist in APlay, ProPresenter marks it in the sidebar, as long as Automatically Check for Playlist Updates is on. Nothing changes until you refresh it.

After clicking the Refresh icon, you are asked to confirm the update:

When you refresh your playlist, presentations from APlay will be updated to the latest versions. Any other presentations you've added to the playlist will stay in place, along with your playlist order. However, any edits you've made inside an APlay presentation will be lost.

Anything you added to the playlist yourself survives a refresh, including the order you arranged it in. Edits you made inside an imported presentation do not.

Things to know when presenting

• Streamed items need internet. They are labeled Streamed from APlay, requires a stable internet connection during playback. Check your connection before the service starts.
• Audio items look different. An audio item arrives as a single playlist item showing a still image, with the audio attached to it. Its URL and name cannot be changed.
• Your edits stay in ProPresenter. Nothing you change is sent back to Amazing.
• Updates are your call. ProPresenter marks a changed playlist. It never changes one on its own.

If something does not play

An item that cannot be presented is covered, showing the reason and the one thing that fixes it. Usually that is logging in again, if your login has expired, or Retry, if a stream stopped responding.
