ProPresenter 22 introduces three named seat types for the computers in your organization: Presenter, Cloud Editor, and Local Editor. If you used ProPresenter before version 22, Presenter was previously called Active, and Local Editor was previously called Inactive.
Each computer signed in to your organization uses one seat, and the seat type decides whether that computer can present without a watermark and whether it can work in your Cloud workspaces. Local Editor seats are free and unlimited, so only Presenter and Cloud Editor seats count toward what your organization has.
The three seat types
Presenter. Present and edit with full access to your organization's Cloud workspaces. This is the seat for the computer that runs your services or events. Outputs have no ProPresenter watermark.
Cloud Editor. Edit and sync your organization's Cloud workspaces from another computer, such as an office computer or a laptop at home. Outputs show a ProPresenter watermark, so a Cloud Editor seat is for preparing content, not presenting it. Cloud Editor seats require ProPresenter 22 or later.
Local Editor. Edit on this computer only. Workspaces don't sync to Cloud, and outputs show a ProPresenter watermark. Choose Cloud Editor to work in Cloud workspaces.
| Presenter | Cloud Editor | Local Editor | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Present without a watermark | Yes | No | No |
| Create, download, and edit Cloud workspaces | Yes | Yes | No (can open a local copy of one already on this computer, see below) |
| Edit local workspaces | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Your seat type has nothing to do with how many workspaces you can have. You can create as many Cloud workspaces as you need, and any computer on a Presenter or Cloud Editor seat can open any of them.
If a computer is signed out, or your organization’s subscription has ended, Settings shows “Signed Out” or “Unsubscribed” instead of a seat type. ProPresenter works the same as on a Local Editor seat: outputs show a watermark and workspaces don’t sync to Cloud.
Check or change your seat
In ProPresenter, go to Settings > Account. There you can see which seat this computer is using, switch it to a different seat type, and see how many of each seat type your organization has available. You need to be signed in to your Renewed Vision account on that computer.
If your organization registered ProPresenter with an unlock code and isn’t signed in to a Renewed Vision account, you’ll only see Presenter and Local Editor. To use Cloud Editor seats and Cloud workspaces, migrate your unlock code to a subscription and sign in.
Opening a Cloud workspace from a Local Editor seat
If a computer on a Local Editor seat tries to open a Cloud workspace, ProPresenter shows a Workspace Unavailable message letting you know your account doesn't currently include Cloud workspaces. You have two options:
- Change your seat. Open Account Settings and change your current seat to Presenter or Cloud Editor, if one is available. You'll then have full access to the Cloud workspace.
- Open it as a local copy. You can work in the copy on this computer, but nothing you change will sync, and the Cloud workspace isn't affected.
You may also see Workspace Unavailable if you’re signed out, or if the workspace belongs to a different organization than the one you’re signed in to. In those cases, you can sign in (or sign out of the current organization), or remove the workspace from this computer. Removing it only deletes the copy on this computer. Nothing is deleted from Cloud.
If you see "No Seats Available"
This means your organization doesn’t have an available seat of the type you chose, not that anything is wrong with your computer. Nothing changes on that computer. To fix it, either:
- Free up a seat by moving a computer that doesn't need it onto a different seat type, for example moving a computer that isn't using Cloud onto a Local Editor seat.
- Add seats in your Renewed Vision account portal (see pricing below).
Pricing
Every organization with an active ProPresenter subscription includes two Cloud Editor seats. If you need more, additional Cloud Editor seats are available in your Renewed Vision account portal.
| Seat | Price |
|---|---|
| Cloud Editor (first two) | Included with your ProPresenter subscription |
| Additional Cloud Editor | $5 per month or $29 per year, each |
Before adding Cloud Editor seats, check whether you already have a spare Presenter seat. Presenter seats have full access to Cloud workspaces, so a church with an unused Presenter seat may not need to buy anything.
Cloud storage
Your ProPresenter subscription also includes 50 GB of Cloud storage, shared across your whole organization rather than counted per seat or per workspace. See How to Choose Which ProPresenter Cloud Plan is Right for You for larger storage plans.
Common questions
Does every computer need its own seat?
Yes. Each computer signed in to your organization uses one seat. Local Editor seats are free and unlimited, so you only need to add seats for computers that present without a watermark (Presenter) or work in Cloud workspaces (Cloud Editor).
Can a Presenter seat edit Cloud workspaces?
Yes. Presenter seats have full access to your organization's Cloud workspaces, in addition to presenting without a watermark.
Can I present from a Cloud Editor seat?
You can, but your outputs will show a ProPresenter watermark. To present without a watermark, use a Presenter seat.
What happens if someone changes my seat from our Renewed Vision account?
ProPresenter lets you know your seat changed. If you had a Cloud workspace open, it stays open with syncing paused, and your changes sync once Cloud access returns.
Do I need more seats to have more workspaces?
No. Workspaces aren't tied to seats. You can create as many Cloud workspaces as you need.
I can't see my organization's Cloud workspaces.
Computers without Cloud access, such as those on a Local Editor seat, don't show your organization's Cloud workspaces in the workspace list. Check your seat in Settings > Account and switch to a Cloud Editor or Presenter seat if one is available.
What happens if my computer loses Cloud access while a Cloud workspace is open?
You won't be pushed out of the workspace. Syncing pauses, you can keep working, and your changes sync once Cloud access returns.
