How to Get Beta Updates in ProPresenter

ProPresenter can notify you when a beta build is available. Beta builds are published more often than release builds and include features and improvements that are still in quality review.

This is also how you join a public beta. If you want to try a ProPresenter public beta, turning on Beta Updates is the setting that makes it available to you.

ProPresenter never updates itself. Turning this on means you’ll be told when a beta is available. Installing it is still your choice, the same as any release update.

Turn on Beta Updates

  1. In ProPresenter, open Settings.
  2. Select Updates in the sidebar.
  3. Under Update Channel, turn on Beta Updates.
  4. Leave Notify when updates are available turned on so ProPresenter tells you when a new build is ready.

That’s all there is to it. The next time a beta build is published, you’ll be notified.

To look right away, select Check Now. Anything available to you appears under Available Updates.

Before you turn this on

Beta builds are still in quality review. We don’t recommend running one in a live production environment unless you’ve tested it thoroughly on your own setup first.

If you use ProPresenter for weekend services, try a beta during the week rather than on a Sunday morning.

Turning Beta updates off

Go back to Settings > Updates and turn off Beta Updates.

If you’re running a beta build at the time, ProPresenter will let you know and offer to download the most recent release version. As always, it’s your choice whether to install it.

Checking which version you have

Settings > Updates shows your Installed Version and the date it was last updated. View Release Notes… opens the notes for that build.
